What is Assisted Living?

Assisted living facilities offer a step between complete independent living and skilled nursing services. Residents cannot live without assistance, but do not need skilled nursing care.


The Facility may be...

  • in a large complex with independent and nursing facilities
  • freestanding facility
  • a large, older house or apartment building

Most facilities have 25-120 apartments

Apartments can be one-room studio or 1 bedroom apartment


The Resident

The typical resident is an 83 year old female who is single or widowed and needs assistance with 1-2 actvities of daily living

Facility provides 24 hour supervision
