Research
Some individuals with Alzheimer's disease elect to participate in clinical research projects, such as drug trials. The results of these projects are extremely valuable to the understanding of the possible causes and treatments of Alzheimer's disease. Drug trials are particularly valuable, as they enable the person with Alzheimer's disease to pursue potential treatments not currently available to the public. A good resource is the clinical trials section of the Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center for ongoing research trial information, including enrollment possibilities.
ClinicalTrials.gov
This is a service of the U.S. National Institutes of Health that provides regularly updated information about federally and privately supported clinical research, including trials currently being conducted for Alzheimer’s disease tests and treatments.
