Combination Therapy

Can I combine multiple Alzheimer’s disease medications for greater effect?

Since Namenda is generally reserved for patients in the more moderate to severe stages of Alzheimer’s disease, it is not uncommon to combine its use with certain cholinesterase inhibitor medications when that time comes, and may even be helpful in some patients.

There are no proven advantages to combining the cholinesterase inhibitor medications (Razadyne, Exelon, Aricept) together. Doing so may only increase the chance of side effects.

Your doctor will help you and your family make the most appropriate decision for your loved one with regard to combination therapy.
