One of the ways we can help you is to encourage you to take care of yourself. Caring deeply about someone who is ill is a heavy burden, even when you no longer have the primary responsibility for daily care. Learning as much as you can about their illness can help you cope. If they are suffering from dementia, the Alzheimer's Association and community resources, such as an area Agency on Aging, can offer a wealth of information. You may also want to consider joining a support group of others who are facing the same challenges you are. And by all means speak frequently and freely with members of our staff.
