When an antipsychotic agent is being considered for an individual resident, we carefully examine all aspects of his or her physical health, mental health, use of other medications, and vulnerability to side effects before selecting an antipsychotic agent. We do this because we want to make sure the treatment is individualized to meet a resident's special needs and condition. There is no "best" medication for all residents.
