We meet other OBRA requirements, too, such as having a licensed pharmacist review the medication regimen of each resident every month. In this way we regularly check that our residents are receiving appropriate medications for specific diagnoses, and that these medications are not likely to interact with each other or cause undesirable side effects for the resident. This applies to all medications, not just antipsychotic medications. We also have a formulary committee that carefully reviews and selects the medications we use at this facility, to make sure that they are appropriate for a nursing facility population.
