There are specific tools we use to help us assure quality care. We use these tools to measure our performance and improve the care we provide. In addition, those agencies that evaluate our performance may also use some of these tools in that evaluation.
A few of these tools are the Resident Assessment
Instrument (RAI), the Online Survey Certification and Reporting
record (OSCAR), the standards of the Joint Commission on the
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and medical
guidelines for long-term care.
