You're here today because you care very much about someone who lives in a long-term care facility. When they have a good day, it makes you feel good. If they are happy and content, you're happy. But if they're in pain, it hurts --both your loved one and you. It hurts to see their discomfort and it hurts to know that pain can affect virtually every aspect of their life. Today we're going to talk about pain -- how we recognize it, what we know about it, and what we can do about it. And fortunately, there is a great deal we can do about it. Our goal is not just to make your loved one comfortable, but to enable them, to the best of their ability, to participate in and enjoy the things that are most meaningful to them.
