• Drafted by a diverse group of psychiatrists which included both clinicians and researchers
• Based on an extensive literature review and expert consensus of opinion
• Intended to be utilized by psychiatrists
• Focus on the treatment of patients who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Parkinson's disease, Lewy body disease, Pick's disease and other frontal lobe dementias prior to be evaluated by the psychiatrist
• Contain extensive information on the treatment of dementia related behavioral symptoms
• Revisions are projected to occur at 3-5 year intervals
• Each recommendation is identified as falling into one of these three categories of endorsement. The three categories represent varying levels of clinical confidence:
