Standardized instruments have been developed specifically for cognitive and noncognitive assessments in people with Alzheimer's disease. The ADAS Cog and Non-Cog are used in clinical trials as a primary outcome measure (cognitive portion) and secondary outcome measure (non-cognitive portion). The cognitive portion assesses areas such as language, memory, and praxis, with scores from 0 to 70, 70 being the worst score.
