Dr. Manju T. Beier is President of Geriatric Consultant
Resources LLC, a company specializing in the education and research needs
of pharmacists, physicians, and other health care professionals responsible
for providing pharmacotherapy to older adults. She also holds an academic
appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the University
of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is actively involved in teaching
courses on Aging and precepting students and residents at the College
of Pharmacy . Her clinical practice involves older adults in long-term
care, and ambulatory settings.
Dr. Beier received her B.S. Pharmacy
and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Utah in Salt Lake
City, Utah. She also holds a B.S. degree in Nutrition from India. Over
the last 20 years, she has held several different positions in academia,
industry, hospital, retail, and consultant pharmacy. Dr. Beier has given
numerous seminars and workshops addressing geriatric pharmacotherapy,
particularly psychopharmacology, pain management, Alzheimers Disease,
and osteoporosis, on a local, state, national, and international level.
In addition, she has several publications to her credit. She currently
serves on the editorial board of several journals related to geriatrics
and aging.
Dr. Beier is actively involved with
the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) and has been re-elected
to serve on the 2000-2002 Board of Directors. In 1996, Dr. Beier was recognized
by the Society with the ASCP/Eli Lilly and Company Leadership in Education
Award.
